According to China Mobile Research Institute news, on August 30, at China Mobile's "Fourth Science and Technology Week and Strategic Emerging Industries Co-creation Development Conference", China Mobile released the core independent innovation achievement "Breaking wind 8676" reconfigurable 5G RF transceiver chip. The chip is the first in China based on reconfigurable architecture design, achieving a key breakthrough from zero to one, filling the domestic gap in this field, and effectively improving the autonomy and controllability of China's 5G network core equipment. Li Nan, deputy director of the Wireless and Terminal Technology Institute of China Mobile Research Institute, said that the RF transceiver chip is a translator between radio waves and digital signals, just like the five features of the human body, converting sound and light into neural signals of the brain, and is a key device in 5G network equipment, which is difficult to develop and urgent for industrial applications. It is known as the "pearl" on 5G base stations. China Mobile established a joint laboratory of chip R&D enterprises in 2021 to carry out the research and development of "Feng8676" reconfigurable 5G RF transceiver chip, which goes through the whole process of chip specification definition, front and back end design, simulation verification, performance testing and overall integration. At present, the "broken wind 8676" chip has been successfully integrated in the entire equipment of a number of head partners, and will play an important role in the construction of the next stage of 5G low-cost and highly controllable commercial network represented by network equipment such as cloud base stations, skin base stations, and home stations.
