Consistent with the previous official announcement, Huawei officially entered the open headphone circuit at the end of the year.

On December 12, Huawei launched the FreeClip, its first open headset, in Dubai. This is a new category of Huawei headset camp, priced at 179.99 pounds in the UK and 199 euros in Europe, which translates to more than 1,500 yuan.

However, according to industry chain analysis, FreeClip will be introduced to the Chinese market at the nova 12 series launch conference later, and the price is expected to be cheaper.

Huawei says FreeClip is the industry's first open earphone that does not distinguish between the left and right ears, with one ear weighing only 5.6g, and can connect two devices at the same time, supporting SBC, AAC and L2HC.

The headset consists of three parts: the Comfort Bean, the Acoustic Ball, and the C-bridge. According to Huawei, this structural design will make the user experience more comfortable, and will not cause ear pain when worn all day.

The comfort bean has an ergonomic bean-shaped design to better fit the shape of the ear. The acoustic ball is designed based on a real ear cavity model to avoid discomfort; The C-bridge section has an adaptive sensor that adjusts the clamping force of the clasp, while its thin cantilever contains nine core wires.

Huawei FreeClip is compatible with both Android and iOS devices, and the headset body (non-headset case) also supports IP54 water and dust resistance, which can bring up to 32 hours of battery life. In terms of fast charging, it takes only 40 minutes to fully charge, and 10 minutes to listen for 3 hours.

According to the statistics of Tidal Power Think Tank, in the global TWS brand sales ranking in the first half of this year, Huawei ranked fifth with a share of about 3.5% and JBL. In the third quarter, its TWS sold about 1.497 million pairs, lagging far behind rivals such as Apple, BoAt, Xiaomi and Samsung.

In fact, compared with its brilliant performance in the smart phone and smart watch sectors, Huawei has not been so strong in the mainstream TWS headset field, especially in the high-end market. On the other hand, the global headset industry, including Apple and Samsung, is facing an unprecedented innovation crisis in terms of function and form.

Compared with in-ear products for hearing damage, the open concept of the last two years popular. According to the incomplete statistics of the tide think tank, many brands such as Xiaomi, BOSE, SONY, IBUfei, Shaoxing, Cleer, Oladance, QCY and so on have become active players in this emerging market.

Chaodian think tank believes that with Huawei's segment, there is no need to show their "technical muscles" with open headphones. To improve the layout of the intelligent audio terminal ecosystem with innovative products and achieve the corner overtaking of market share is Huawei's strategic consideration for launching FreeClip.
